Pumpkin Efird, who is the sister of Alana Thompson, also known as Honey Boo Boo, has worked hard to keep her sister safe and make her life better. When their mother, June Shannon, abandoned Alana for drugs, alcohol, and a new man, Pumpkin didn’t have any other choice but then to adopt her youngest sister.
After June served time in prison and rehab and seemed to come to her senses, she has been working on her relationship with her daughters. With June trying to work things out with Alana, quite a few fans are concerned as to where Sugar Bear, Mike Thompson, Alana’s father is these days.

In one of Pumpkin’s newest posts on TikTok, she used a filter that showed a fake beard on Pumpkin and Alana. She captioned the video, “Her dad’s a POS so I’ll be da pappy.” Of course, as soon as her fans saw this, they had quite a lot to say. Most of her fans pointed out that Pumpkin has taken over so many roles in Alana’s life for her.
One wrote, “You all the identities! Pappy, mama, sisters, ROLE MODEL. She’s so lucky to have you and you’ve set such a great example.” One more added, “You really are the pappy. You have done such a good job raising her.”
From this post, it is clear that Pumpkin and Alana really do love to have fun, but what was with the jab at Sugar Bear? He hasn’t been in Alana’s life that much since she and June have started to work on their relationship.
In fact, he didn’t even show up to her high school graduation and this got him a lot of hate. However, from the looks of it, Alana seems to be doing just fine with Pumpkin as her parents these days.
As of right now, Alana has been in Colorado studying to be a nurse. We will continue to keep an eye on her and Pumpkin to see if anything changes in the future. We hope that Alana has her eyes on the prize and does well in college and can follow her dreams.
