Sixteen current and former staff members of The Tonight Show have accused Jimmy Fallon of fostering a “toxic work environment” by causing them to cry in “crying rooms,” cause their hair to fall out, and cause them to have suicidal thoughts.
According to Rolling Stone, 14 former employees and two current employees have expressed concerns about Fallon’s ‘erratic’ workplace behavior and encounters with other managers that made them feel denigrated or intimidated.
According to them, a “pretty glum atmosphere” was set off by Fallon‘s erratic conduct, which included “outbursts” at employees.
Even while Fallon’s talk show is recognized for its amusing tales and a variety of challenges, quizzes, and trivia that receive millions of weekly views online, it’s been said that Fallon has unpredictably fluctuating moods. One former worker explains, “It was like, if Jimmy is in a bad mood, everyone’s day is f**ked.”

They continued to say, “People wouldn’t joke around in the office, and they wouldn’t stand around and talk to each other. It was very much like, focus on whatever it is that you have to do because Jimmy’s in a bad mood, and if he sees that, he might fly off.”
It’s claimed that his erratic and acerbic attitude permeates the show’s hierarchy, which has had nine showrunners in nine years. None of the nine showrunners chose to comment on the show, either positively or negatively.
Seven staff members said that their general wellness was harmed by their alleged experiences, and several of them claimed that they left the show owing to mental health issues.
Others said they were terminated from the program, and when things got too much, they reportedly used the guest rooms as “crying rooms” to vent. Due to their experiences, four persons claim they are in counseling, while three others admitted they had suicide thoughts.
The experience of working on the program, according to one former employee, is “a bummer” because it was their “dream job.”
