The soaps are notorious for catfights. ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers is no exception. There have been many female rivalries on GH, too many to count. However, GH has some fascinating female friendships.

Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) has several interesting friendships and has matured since she first came to Port Charles. She has become close with a few different gals. Take Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), for example.

These two women, at best, tolerated each other’s presence in Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) life but formed a solid bond when Jason was presumed dead.

Sam could have easily held a grudge against Carly for Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) going to prison, but Sam and Carly remain friends.

Carly has even learned to play nice with Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst).

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Some Friendships Last no Matter What

Recently Carly’s friendship with Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) was tested.

When Carly and Drew were busted for insider trading, it was believed that Ned Quartermain (Wallace Kurth) was to blame.

However, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is the true culprit.

Carly suggested to Olivia that she should turn against her husband, Ned. Recently, Olivia let Carly know that she was not happy about all the inferences that Ned was guilty of turning in Carly and Drew.

Like a champ, Carly accepted Olivia’s scolding because she knew Olivia was under a lot of pressure where Ned was concerned.

She apologized and let her friend know she would be there for her once she cooled off.

The two women talked and worked things out, despite Olivia volunteering to help Nina (Cynthia Reeves) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) plan their wedding.

That conversation definitely could have taken a wrong turn, and Carly could have been understandably upset with Olivia.

Instead, they reminisced about how they met and the history between them.

It would have been so “Carly” if she had let Olivia’s latest project come between her and her best friend.

However, Carly took the high road and did not let it get to her. General Hospital has a knack for featuring female friendships, even unlikely ones.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Friendship for Revenge

Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Nina Reeves a perfect example.

This unlikely duo paired up to get revenge on Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stewart) and Nicolas,

    Cassadine (Marcus Coloma), respectively.

The two of them are about the least likely to have become friends, considering Nina forced Ava into labor due to her demented plot to steal Avery.

Despite all this, Nina and Ava are thick as thieves these days. Ava is keeping a big secret about Nina being the one to turn Carly and Drew into the SEC.

Maura West has even commented about the unusual friendship between the two women and said that even though Ava is a “badass bitch,”

Ava has empathy and a vast capacity for forgiveness. Besides, Ava and Nina know what it is like to be the outsiders looking in.

They both appreciate each other even more for that reason.

Besides, it is a win-win for Ava, who doesn’t like Carly anyway.

As unbelievable as it is, Ava would much rather deal with Nina and Sonny sharing Avery than Carly and Sonny sharing Avery with her.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: There is Nothing Better Than a Good Brawl

On the soaps, it is common to see two women fighting. However, General Hospital certainly has some fascinating female friendships.

It is sometimes more refreshing to see two women bond on the soaps than to see them rolling around on the floor, pulling each other’s hair out.

The power of female friendship is so relatable and fun for women to see.

Now if Nina and Carly become besties, that will be the day when pigs fly.

Hey, stranger things have happened on General Hospital.
