‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers suggest that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) may be putting their own difficult experiences to good use.
While they didn’t plan it, both of them end up having personal conversations with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) at the same time.

Summer is a wreck. She just got the news that Kyle has moved on with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver). When she smelled perfume on Kyle and then smelled that same scent when she met Audra, it led her to confront Kyle. He admitted that he is sleeping with Audra.
Summer also confronted Audra. Audra was definitely unapologetic, suggesting that Summer take a good long look at herself and how she contributed to the situation. Audra suggests that Summer is not the victim in this situation.
At Crimson Lights, Summer vents to her new partner, Chelsea. She does feel badly for hurting Kyle, but she also struggles because she didn’t intentionally take any of her actions to hurt him. She wasn’t out to attack him or cause him pain. Her main focus was her mother and Kyle ended up being a casualty.
Chelsea encourages her to take care of herself. Summer can’t change the way Kyle feels. She has to accept that. There are no easy answers in this situation, but if Kyle won’t hear her out or look for a path back to her, Summer has to let him go. This is hard for Summer to hear, but she can’t make him return to her.

At the same time that Chelsea and Summer speak, Billy meets Kyle at the Athletic Club. Kyle isn’t interested in working things out with Summer and says that it is over. He is addressing his pain by moving on with Audra Charles and with his new position at Newman Media.
Billy encourages Kyle to think about forgiving Summer for his own sake. The unwillingness to forgive only ends up hurting the person who is hanging on to the anger. Billy suggests that this would be good for Kyle personally and for Kyle and Summer’s son, Harrison (Kellen Enriquez).
