According to reports, Donald Trump is reportedly feeling optimistic before his potential arrest.

Sources suggest that Trump desires his arrest to be a widely publicized event to receive the most amount of attention.

As per the earlier report by The Post, sources have revealed that the NYPD and Secret Service are making arrangements for the potential indictment of former President Trump in Manhattan.

This comes after Trump’s statement that he anticipates being apprehended.

The possibility of Trump being arrested and charged is linked to an investigation being carried out by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

The investigation is focused on the payment of hush money to Stormy Daniels, a porn star, before the 2016 elections. Daniels has accused Trump of having an affair with her in 2006, which he has denied.

According to reports, Michael Cohen, a lawyer representing Mr Trump, paid $130,000 to Ms Daniels to prevent her from revealing certain sensitive information.

Although this act was not considered illegal, it was discovered that Mr Trump reimbursed Cohen for the payment, which was recorded as legal fees.

This has resulted in accusations by prosecutors that Mr Trump tampered with business records, which is a criminal offence in the state of New York.

If prosecutors believe that the reason behind concealing payments to Ms. Daniels was to avoid disclosing the affair with her to voters, they could charge the accused with breaking election laws.

Such an act of falsifying records to hide a crime could lead to a more severe felony charge. And yet, rather than being worried about it all, Trump appears to be in good spirits.

A source said: “Trump will be getting all the media. He will argue he is the leader of the party and has the best shot against [President] Biden, which is why he is being attacked.

“His people are licking their chops, they are pumped. Next thing he’ll be doing is a rally.”

This is significant since the outcome could impact on whether or not Trump makes a run for office in 2024.

And given that he does have a large support base, this could influence the American electorate, with potentially more division. Time will tell how it all plays out moving forward.
