On Saturday, 4th February 2023, based on reports, Chris Rock is prepared to unleash his comedic material about the notorious Oscar slap of Will Smith during his live standup show via Netflix.
Chris Rock Will Reveal All On Will Smith’s Slap Via A Netflix Special
Almost a year ago, Smith made an appearance on the Oscars stage while Rock was speaking and slapped him in the face. He has largely remained silent on it, but that has not prevented him from making jokes about the issue.
Last year, Rock jested that he got slapped by someone named “Suge Smith,” comparing this person to Suge Knight, who is currently in jail for 28 years after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter. This naturally begs the question: what will Chris reveal?
Well, outside of an alternative explanation to the contrary, it is possible to see the following. First of all, Rock knows that there is a lot of anticipation over what his thoughts are on the matter. Therefore, he may try to milk this as much as possible.
After all, the Oscars are set to take place this month too. Secondly, there are question marks over whether or not Chris is still on good terms with Will. The latter may have apologized, but it is not known if that was accepted. The response on social media was very clear.
A certain subset of people felt that Rock had to let this go since it had been a while since the incident had occurred. Meanwhile, others were against the idea on the basis that it was simply giving Smith more attention when people had grievances towards him.
One person wrote: “I can’t even watch a Will Smith movie anymore! He’s basically just a POS,” while another person stated: “Don’t give Will Smith any air time he doesn’t deserve it.”
