Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have finally spoken out in response to the news that they could sue the makers of South Park after they released an episode that targeted them in a negative way.

Harry And Meghan Will Not Sue South Park-‘It’s All Frankly Nonsense’

The episode, called “The World-Wide Privacy Tour,” focused on a regal figure and his partner who chose to settle in the fictional South Park, Colorado. The “Prince of Canada” was observed endorsing his book, entitled Waaaagh, as they started a “we want privacy” voyage.

One of the key figures in the show, Stan Marsh, labeled the cartoon figures that were similar to Harry and Meghan as the “dumb prince and silly spouse,” while Kyle was vocal about the private plane parked near their residence. Although the episode doesn’t refer to them by name, the characters strongly resembled the duke and duchess.

But any chances of there being any legal action has been shut down. In an official statement on behalf of the couple, a representative said: “It’s all frankly nonsense. Totally baseless, boring reports.”

This should not come as a surprise for the following reasons. First of all, by engaging in a legal battle, it will only go on to draw more eyes to the episode. This is the last thing the couple would want since it was mocking them.

Secondly, legal action would show that the pair were impacted by the episode, despite claims that they are doing well overseas. Lastly, in any event, it would simply come across in a negative manner.

The response on social media was much the same. A certain subset of people felt that the outrage from the episode had been exaggerated. One person wrote: “South Park is a cartoon!  That anyone would try to use it to validate something is insane.”

So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
