CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Spoilers indicate that there is the potential for serious trouble between Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). Devon has demanded an end to the merger between Chancellor-Winters, saying that he wants his company back.
Lily has told him that there is no way to dissolve the merger right before they go public. He plans to take Lily and her partner Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) to court if they do not relent and give him his share of the company.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: The Disagreement
When Devon demanded the return of his part of the company, Lily knew that was impossible. It would mean ruin for the company which was on the edge of going public. They had put time and effort into this and there is no way to change course. Devon disagreed and argued that he never even wanted the company to go public. While this may be true, it is not relevant to the current status.
To try to solve this issue, Lily and Jill have offered to buy Devon’s part of the company from him after a successful public offering. Then he would have the financial capital to start his own company. He is refusing, saying that he just wants his father’s company because it means so much to him. Since he has turned that down, the only path that he could take at this point is to take them to court. Litigation could hurt both parties and destroy what they have worked so hard to build.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: No Compromise
While a lawsuit really makes no sense for anyone, it may be where it goes. Devon doesn’t want Lily and Jill to buy him out and he is also refusing to continue with them as they go public. The only option for him is to pull his company out, no matter what it destroys and who it hurts. Lily is grieving this outcome not only because of the company she has worked so hard for, but also because she wanted to work with her brother.
This was an important partnership for her. When Devon hears that, he suggests that she abandon Chancellor Winters and come work for Hamilton Winters (after the split). When she balks at that, he erupts, saying he knew that she doesn’t really care about family.
She only cares about the business. He is not willing to put aside his business for the love of his sister either though. They are truly at an impasse. If they don’t figure out something, they could both face the destruction of their companies and the destruction of their relationship.
What do you think? Will they be able to figure out a path ahead? Do you think Devon will realize that suing Chancellor Winters could be devastating or will he press forward? Will he ever agree to some kind of compromise? Share your thoughts below.
