Piers Morgan’s Twitter profile was infiltrated by an individual who posted various racially offensive comments and demanded that the sovereignty of Somalia be recognised.

Numerous Twitter users were taken aback to observe Morgan’s account sharing posts that were brimming with profanity. It became clear that a cluster of individuals who labeled themselves as the ‘chuckling squad,’ had infiltrated the ex-newspaper editor and television star’s account. 

The Chuckling Squad achieved a level of infamy in 2019 due to their successful infiltration of multiple well-known Twitter accounts that belonged to celebrities. And when it came to Morgan, the hacking incident lasted for about sixty minutes. The cybercriminals repeatedly altered the username of Morgan and used derogatory names instead. 

Upon the incident, fans and supporters of Morgan were quick to react, some of them appealing to Twitter to deal with the hacking and others petitioning the hackers to look into Morgan’s private messages to discover what he has discussed with Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex. 

But it all came to a head when the account tweeted the following about Somali independence: “Please recognise the territorial integrity of Somalia. All this land belongs to the Somali people.” The fans on social media had a lot to say about the matter.

Large numbers of people began to laugh about the whole situation and made a running joke about it. And in the process of doing so, the comments towards Morgan were very derogatory indeed.

One person wrote: “It’s the small things in life that bring joy, isn’t it,” while another person stated: “Excellent work Mr Troll. About time Piers got some of his own vitriol back.”

Thankfully, Morgan saved himself from further embarrassment as who knows what could have happened on any other given day. And that is the most important thing to remember moving forward.
