British Royal News finds that an explosive interview with Virginia Giuffre is set to make international headlines next week when it airs on the BBC, as the American woman speaks out about Prince Andrew and his part in the ongoing controversy.
In the interview, Giuffre claims that she was 17 when she was forced into bed with the Duke of York, before revealing that the prince and Jeffrey Epstein both ‘know what happened’. Prince Andrew continues to plead his innocence and reiterated that he has never had sexual contact with Giuffre.
Royal News: Police Defend Decision
Earlier on Thursday, the Met Police defended their decision not to probe the allegations of trafficking made against Epstein by Giuffre. They said that they stand by their conclusion that it was “not the appropriate authority” to investigate her claims.
Ms Giuffre was previously called Virginia Roberts, and she alleges that she was forced to have sex with the prince on three separate occasions. These came between 2001 and 2002, with Giuffre aged just 17 when they met. She also claims that these meetings took place in London, New York and in the US Virgin Islands. These accusations have been reacted to angrily by Buckingham Palace, who have stated that they are ‘false and without any foundation’.
Meanwhile, In an interview with the BBC earlier this month, the Duke said the alleged incidents “never happened”. The special hour-long interview with Giuffre will air on Monday evening. During the interview, she said: “It was a really scary time in my life. He knows what happened. I know what happened. And there’s only one of us telling the truth.”

The Queen’s third child has been faced with these same questions for the past couple of months now, and the questions have grown ever since Epstein took his own life in August while awaiting trial for ex-trafficking charges. The Duke has been faced with massive backlash since his interview with the BBC, where he was quizzed about his relationship with Giuffre and Epstein. Since then he has stepped back from royal duties as the Epstein scandal has become a ‘massive disruption’ to the Royal Family.
He later said in the interview that he deeply sympathised with sex offender victims and everyone who “wants some form of closure”. In a statement released by the Duke, he said he was “willing to help any appropriate law enforcement agency with their investigations if required”.
