Jeff Wittek had some interesting things to say about all the things that Kanye West is doing in the news recently. Tana Mongeau was on his Jeff FM podcast and they were talking about how Kanye West is “beefing with the Jewish community”, Tana commented that Kanye West was making some anti-semetic remarks, to which Jeff Wittek replied, “Okay, but sometimes there’s reasons behind what he does and then everybody starts doing it.” to which Tana posed a loaded question, “Are you saying that everyone’s going to start being anti-semetic now?”
Oh… we sincerely hope not.
Also, that is not a good look on Jeff Wittek, just saying. The thing is, he didn’t even bother saying that he didn’t think what Kanye West was saying was anti-semetic, which, would have made him look supremely dim-witted, but these comments just make him look like he’s trying to give Kanye a pass for comments that he shouldn’t be given a pass for.
Did Jeff Wittek just side with Kanye West?
Whether or not Jeff actually meant it in that way is up for debate because he didn’t actually go too deep into his reasoning other than everyone starts copying Kanye after awhile… which… again, is pretty debatable.
But we do wonder, since he seems to be friends with Ethan Klein, who is Jewish himself, how he would feel about his comments if he knew he made them. (If he doesn’t know yet, he will, that’s just the way social media works.)
According to social media, Jeff hasn’t quite stuck his foot in his mouth yet, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that he won’t and from where he stands right now it’s a slippery slope into the anti-semetic cesspool of being cancelled and since he’s doing well right now we don’t want that for him… even if we wouldn’t consider ourselves a real fan of his.
Also, Tana really doesn’t need this. Granted, she gets cancelled every other month for something she does but so far she hasn’t aligned herself with anything anti-semetic. In her early days she was filmed spouting racial slurs, but so far nothing anti-semetic… we hope she doesn’t start that, it’s not a good look for a blonde, priveleged chick to be spouting anti-semetic things… just saying.
