Oprah Winfrey has recalled undergoing her knee surgeries.
Oprah Winfrey Opens Up About Her Consecutive Knee Surgeries
The 68-year-old had the unfortunate experience of having consecutive knee surgeries last year. But as part of that process, she made a promise to herself that she would make a recovery.
But during the earlier moments of her recuperation period, her mobility was severely hamper to the point where it was very difficult to do simple movements. In her comments, she said: “When I came home the first time, I literally could not lift my leg.
“I couldn’t lift my heel off of the bed, and I vowed if I was ever able to get up, walk around, and move again.” With that being said, she undertook a variety of activities to get her body as fit as possible.
This included hiking, which made her realise the importance of maintaining a healthy body and appreciating everything that came with it. This also had an impact on another part of her life, as Oprah recently spoke about making a potential return to acting.
Her last TV role was in ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ where she had a voice-over role, all the way back in 2019. Although Oprah has yet to state the exact type of role that she is looking for, she did make it absolutely clear that something could be on the horizon.
The following comments confirmed as much: “I actually do think something perfect is coming, and I kind of know what it is. Let me tell you, it takes a lot to get me off the porch.”
As of now, there are no signs of Oprah slowing down and heading into retirement. But given that she is not getting any younger, there are always question marks over how long she has left in the industry. Therefore, it is not surprising to see her making the most of things as who knows when she will have to call it a day.
