Princess Diana Wouldn’t Have Liked Meghan-Says Her Former Photographer
That is according to Diana’s former photographer John Swannell. John, for his part, was well aware of Diana after having been commissioned by her to take portraits of her children. And as part of that process, he got to know her quite well. With that being said, John was adamant that Diana would not have been Meghan’s biggest fan.
In his comments, he said: “I don’t think she would have liked her because she’d think she’d stolen her son,’ Swannell told The Daily Mail. ‘He’s like a puppet now.’ He elaborated ‘She seemingly had an agenda when she came over.”
Those comments did generate some talking points for the following reasons. First of all, there is the obvious question mark over whether Harry would have left the firm if his mother was alive today. After all, knowing that this would have created such a division within the family, Harry may not have done so.
Secondly, Diana’s introduction may have helped Meghan settle into the firm a lot better. It is no secret that Diana did struggle with elements of royal life, something which Meghan made very clear during her controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey.
And yet, John did not hold back on how he thought Meghan made a series calculating move. His following comments confirmed as much: “She was a little-known actress and an opportunity came up, and she took it as anybody would. But she’s a very smart woman, that’s for sure. She’s an operator.”
The fans on social media had a different take on the matter. A certain subset felt that Diana and Meghan may have bonded over their grievances concerning the firm.
One person wrote: “Seriously? As a woman who had her every decision questioned and criticised by the British establishment and press, I think Diana would have found a kindred spirit in Markle.”
