George RR Martin and Ryan Condal are taking us back Westeros with a new series about that tells the story of the Targaryens. HBO have officially ordered a full prequel to Game of Thrones and it is titled House of the Dragon. The story is set about 300 years before the Game of thrones happened and the plot is around the House Targaryen, the royal line, including Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen. Here is all we know about the upcoming series.
When will the House of the Dragon be on TV?
WE do not know yet. What we do know is that in order to have enough time to do the casting, filming, editing, and the visual effects, we might not get a trailer in a year or two.
When Will House of the Dragon, Game of Thrones Hit TV? What’s it all about? How would you love to watch game of thrones over again?
However, we know that the 10-episode series will air in the UK – Sky Atlantic and NOWTV, where Game of Thrones was aired.
Will any of the GOT Characters return? Absolutely not! Unless the Night King makes an appearance.
The story is set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones, so none of the characters we know and love will appear.
However, if it is about the period in Westerosi history as we heard, we will meet the Starks, Lannisters, Baratheons ancestors – as well as Aegon “the Conqueror” Targaryen and his sister-wives Rhaenys and Visenya.
We might also meet the much talked about large dragon Balerion the Black Dread, Aegon’s mount – the one whose skull lived in the King’s Landing’s dungeon most of the GOT story. This time, we will be seeing him with little flesh.
What will the Story be about?
The series would likely concern itself with Aegon’s so-called War of Conquest, though it may begin sometime before that to tell us how and why he came to his ambitious coup.
Alternatively, the Targaryen Civil War – also known as the Dance of Dragons – might be the focus of the prequel.
GOT author George R.R. Martin said: “For what it’s worth, those who have read Fire & Blood will realize it contains enough materials for a dozen shows. “I can say that there will be dragons. Everyone else has said that, so why not me?”
The president of HBO programming, Casey Bloys said after the show’s announcement: “The Game of Thrones universe is so rich with stories. We look forward to exploring the origins of House Targaryen and the earlier days of Westeros along with Miguel, Ryan and George.”
We can’t wait for this series to start showing.
