Justin and Selena’s prior relationship has always been a huge talking point amongst the fan base. This is on the basis that many Bieber fans were disappointed that the pair had broken up. So much so that Hailey did receive a certain amount of backlash when she got with Justin as a result.
And things did not get any easier once they got married. With that being said, Hailey wanted to let everyone know exactly the truth about her getting with Justin. In her comments, she said: “I’ve literally never talked about this ever. A lot of the perpetuation and the hate comes from ‘Oh, you stole him.
“It’s about people knowing the truth. Because there’s a truth.” One of the primary reasons why Hailey has had to suffer backlash is due to the timeline of events that lead to her and Justin being together.
Selena and Justin broke up in 2018 after being on and off over several years. However, a few months later, Justin ended up proposing to Hailey, which naturally led some to suggest that perhaps she had been with Justin during his time with Selena.
But in order to counter those claims, Hailey let everybody know that she has simply been getting on with her life. In some prior comments, she remarked: “I’m minding my business. I don’t do anything, I don’t say anything. Leave me alone, please.”
The fans on social media were not impressed with Hailey. This was on the basis that people felt she had to let the drama surrounding Selena go since it had been a while back. One person wrote: “Five years into her marriage and still talking about her husband’s ex.”
