Fans had mistakenly confused the death of Queen Elizabeth II with talk show host Queen Latifah.
Fans Thought Queen Latifah Died After Mistaking Her For Queen Elizabeth II
According to reports, this confusion had initially started when the following tweet had been posted: “I told my mama the Queen died, she talking about ‘LATIFAH ????’ It became a game of telephone, and the rumour spread like wildfire!”
As a result, people ended up mixing the Queens with some bizarre consequences. After all, Queen Elizabeth was one of the most influential figures as she became the longest British monarch and Head of State.
Not only that, but since large parts of the world were in mourning following her death, this made things even more bizarre. This is especially since the global coverage has been constant, coupled with the fact that King Charles III has now officially become King.
It is not surprising that the comments on social media were one of ridicule. A certain subset of people began to make running jokes from this tweet, meanwhile others wanted to reassure everybody that Queen Latifah was alive and well.
One person wrote: “Mf app had me scared I thought Queen Latifah died I was really about to cry,” while another person stated: “Everybody saying ‘rip queen’ thought y’all was talking bout Queen Latifah I was botta cry.”
Latifah has yet to respond to this which is understandable due to the negative media scrutiny that it would generate. But in any event, Latifah has left her own legacy.
While it is not going to be comparable to what Queen Elizabeth achieved, she can still be proud of the milestones that she has managed. After all, she is known for being a rapper, talk show host, singer and even film producer.
So in the eventuality that she does pass, fans can be reassured that Queen Latifah left her own mark on the world. And that is the most important thing to remember.
