Jada Pinkett Smith Begged Will Smith To Give Chris Rock An Apology-He ‘Never Wanted To’
The actor had not spoken to the comedian ever since he decided to slap him at the 2022 Oscars, as Will was offended by his joke about his wife Jada’s hair loss. Despite receiving a huge amount of backlash since then, Will refrained from making an apology for around 4 months.
Cleary, that was out of order, as that left Chris to ponder what had happened without any closure. But it seems that Will had no intention of holding his hands up, had it not been for Jada’s influence.
A source confirmed the following: “Jada has also been pushing Will to apologise because it has become this really dark cloud over her Red Table Talk series. [He] never wanted to [publicly].”
If those comments are deemed to be true, then they are very significant for the following reasons. First of all, it would indicate a genuine lack of remorse on Will’s part as the apology could be interpreted as an attempt to minimise the damage to his reputation.
Secondly, it would also support the idea that Jada has a lot of influence in the relationship. Regardless of what the case may be, it became clear that this scandal was not going anywhere.
The source added: “His team had hoped that the controversy would die down, but it just hasn’t. It would be impossible for him to move forward successfully unless he [addressed the slap].”
Even with Will apologising, the fans on social media were not impressed. A certain subset could not put things behind them and felt this was an attempt to save face. One person wrote: “Effecting her money and rep. Sounds about right.”
