Travis Scott hit back at claims that he had recently bought a $5.5 million Bugatti amid criticism from the family attorney of a victim that had died at Astroworld.
Travis Scott Slams Astroworld Attorney For ‘An Unprovoked And Unjustified Attack’ On His Reputation
Travis, for his part, has not had the easiest of times ever since the tragedy killed 10 people and injured many others. During the course of that process, Travis was heavily criticised on the basis that the venue did not have sufficient safety protocols.
Therefore, it was not possible to get medical assistance out quickly enough to those that needed it. And given that Travis has been facing lawsuits as a result, the fact that he had apparently purchased this lavish car did not come across very well.
Bob Hillard, who happens to be an attorney for the family connected to the deceased Ezra Blount, had this to say: “Ezra would still be alive today, enjoying his summer, if Travis would’ve spent half of what he paid for the Bugatti on simple safety measures at the deadly music festival.”
Nevertheless, Travis has hit back at these claims by suggesting that this is nothing more than an attempt to smear his reputation. This was on the grounds that the Bugatti was not a new purchase but one that he had made some time previously.
As such, the fact that this is now being brought up only goes on to give a misleading impression. Not only that, but even if Travis had purchased this recently, there is always the argument that he should be allowed to spend his money how he deems fit.
In a statement given on behalf of the musician, a representative said: “The car referenced was purchased way back in 2020.
“Misrepresenting a two-year-old car purchase to make an unprovoked and unjustified attack on Travis Scott is nothing more than another desperate publicity stunt to try to falsely blame Travis and intentionally manipulate public opinion.”
