The public went into a frenzy when an independently published autobiography claiming to be from disgraced movie producer Harvey Weinstein was published on Amazon.
Two Former Inmates Published An Autobiography Claiming To Be From Harvey Weinstein
Weinstein is currently doing jail time, as a result of being convicted for sex crimes relating to assault and rape. Naturally, when a book professing to be from Weinstein appeared on Amazon, people began to become intrigued.
However, rather than Weinstein taking some time out to write this, it turned out that this was put together from two former inmates, who just so happened to be serving time in the same prison.
As a result, they decided to band together in order to write this piece. The book entitled “Harvey Weinstein: My Story,” was on sale on Amazon for $7.99. It soon began to gain traction, as people wondered whether this was a legitimate piece.
The book was quite complementary of the former movie producer based on the blurb. It spoke of Weinstein’s achievements in the movie industry by referring to the following: “Many people in the movie field are lucky if they get a single Academy Awards nomination.
“Do you know how many of them Weinstein received? Not three, not 35, but 350. And do you know how many Oscars? A total of 80.” Once it became clear that things were getting out of hand, representatives on behalf of Weinstein had decided to take action.
As a consequence, a cease-and-desist was issued which resulted in the book being removed from Amazon. Arthur Aidala, who happens to be Weinstein’s attorney, had this to say: “It’s definitely not an autobiography.
“Knowing Harvey, if he was going to do something like this, it would be on a bigger, more grand scale.” Weinstein certainly has a book in the making, but for now, that is a long way off given that he is preoccupied with serving time behind bars.
