In the new season of 90 Day Fiancé, we have been introduced to Patrick Mendes and his girlfriend, Thais Ramone. Patrick looks pretty familiar to some fans because of his past. He used to be a professional bodybuilder and even made the Olympic team. His dreams all came crashing down, however.

Patrick met Thais when he was in Brazil visiting his father. He knew that he needed to act on this relationship as soon as they began to hit it off. He has been to Brazil 14 or so times and now he is ready for Thais to move to America.

She is a 25-year-old model and he works as a salesman for a security company. He has mentioned though that he was a professional weightlifter and he had his dreams crushed when he tested positive for human growth hormone during the Olympic trials.
He still likes to wake up at 5 a.m. every morning and work out. He will never stop until his body can’t take it anymore and he believes that “pain is weakness leaving the body.” Patrick was on the U.S National team and even competed in the Pan Am Games and World Championships in weightlifting. He was only focused on a career in this field and knew that he had to succeed in it or else. Patrick has had many setbacks when it comes to his weightlifting career and he ended up meeting a woman that he married and she pretty much ruined his life.
He ended up suspended from the sport for two years because of the HGH in his system and he tested positive for another substance and that ended his career forever. He said that his ex-wife was just a horrible person and pushed him in ways that he can’t believe we’re part of his life back then. Patrick does feel a lot of remorse for what he did in his past and he knows that there is no way that he will ever be able to compete again. That is one of the reasons he continues to go to the gym and work on his body for himself.
It is nice to see a cast member own up to their mistakes and we do hope that he is able to find love with Thais and they are able to make their romance work.
