Steve Harvey has given his take on Will Smith’s slap-gate incident.

Steve Harvey Condemns Will Smith Over Slapping Chris Rock-‘Punk Move’

The actor lashed out against comedian Chris Rock after the latter made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair loss. As a consequence, Will received a 10-year Oscar ban even if no charges were filed by Chris, who decided to let things go.

Despite Will undergoing therapy in order to rehabilitate himself back into society, after having gone to India for spiritual purposes, Steve has not been impressed by the actor. So much so that he called out Will for his unsavoury behaviour.

When speaking at an event held at Georgia State University, he said: “[It was a] punk move [and I lost] a lot of respect for him.” Aside from losing respect, Steve also expanded on what he would have done had he been in that particular position.

He opened up on how he may not have been as forgiving as Chris, as his comments suggested that he would have perhaps responded in kind. And in the process of doing so, the talk show host stated that his self-control may have deserted him.

He stated: “I don’t have high-level Christianity…You slap T.D. Jakes, he’ll turn the other cheek. You slap me? If you sit back in your seat, Jada [Will’s wife] would have to move out of the way. That’s the type of Christian I am.”

Nevertheless, the fans on social media were not convinced by his comments. A certain subset of people were of the view that it is easy to talk after the fact. Thus, Steve may not have had the same enthusiasm that he has shown now, had he been there.

As a result, they questioned his credibility. One person wrote: “Now Steve Harvey know damn well he ain’t finna fight let alone beat up Will Smith…Sthu.” Luckily for everyone, Steve was not involved. After all, who knows how he would have reacted. So there you have it folks.
