Comedian Tehran Von Ghasri Warned Security About A Trespasser Before Dave Chappelle’s Attack-‘To Be Honest, The Security Dismissed My Concern’

Comedian Tehran Von Ghasri has controversially claimed that his security concerns during Dave Chappelle’s performance for the ‘Netflix Is A Joke’ festival were ignored.

Such a statement is a strong one, especially given what has happened with performance venues of late. The Astroworld tragedy which led to a reported 10 people dying, as well as many others injured was a typical example of what can happen when security protocols are not taken seriously.

So for Tehran to come out with such a statement, he must have had legitimate grounds for doing so. And on closer inspection, he does have a point. He had been in attendance at the show, as a guest in the VIP section. And that is when Tehran claimed he saw a person jump over the barrier in a suspicious manner.

But after informing security, it seems his concerns were not taken on board. In an interview with Fox News, Tehran said: “I did my best to alert the security guard who was immediately behind us and expressed with concern…to be honest, the security dismissed my concern.”

Thankfully, nothing untoward ended up happening as Dave did not sustain any injuries. And yet, it is clear that something needs to be done to prevent incidents like this from happening again.

This is the second time that a high-profile attack on a comedian has occurred this year following the initial slapgate incident involving Will Smith lashing out at Chris Rock during the Oscars simply because the latter had made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair loss.

But rather than calling out Will over creating this sentiment, Tehran was of the view that there is a wider problem at play here. His following comments confirmed as much: “I don’t believe that Will Smith started a precedent.

“I think Will Smith was part of a symptom. And just because you are offended doesn’t mean you’re right.” Surely, something has to give for the sake of protecting comedians. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
