The pair’s time together was marred by controversy in the latter stages. Matthew had accused Shanna of cheating on him, despite her claims to the contrary. And it all came to a head when the model took control of Shanna’s Instagram and went on a rant about her.
Not only that, but he was arrested on the grounds of domestic violence only to then be released on bail. Although Matthew denied doing anything of the sort, the very fact of the matter is that the public did not buy it.
Just when you thought that was bad enough, Shanna announced that she was pregnant. The implication was that Matthew was the father, which was the last thing she needed to deal with.
But when it transpired that it was a false alarm, Shanna was called out for doing a publicity stunt. This is especially since she was pictured with Matthew in the aftermath of the domestic violence incident.
That is why Shanna understood if people had a negative perception of her. In an interview with Us Weekly, she said: “I understand why people are triggered. I know people who have been in relationships where there’s been any form of abuse, whether it’s mental, verbal, emotionally, it’s very, very triggering.”
Nevertheless, it seems that the pair are not together. But it is not as simple as that. Given that they were in a relationship for two years, it is understandable that Shanna had some feelings still left over. And yet, this was not enough for the pair to start things over, given what had happened.
That is why they have just decided to keep things civil. She added: “I am single. Matthew and I are not together, however, we’re remaining cordial. I think he and I have a very deep love for one another. I love him very, very much.”
