There is a war crime that no media outlet is discussing right now, and that is the very real war crime of rape. Currently, there are over 3,000 cases of rape in the Ukraine perpetuated by Russian soldiers – and this is just the women who were lucky enough to make it to a hospital and/or report it to the police. This is not counting the cities that are occupied right now, this is just the ones that remain standing.
One 33 year old woman recounting the horrific story of Russian soldiers killing her dog and forcing her to lock up her crying son or they threatened to show him how his Mother’s head would roll on their kitchen floor, this was before raping her repeatedly.
The Horror Of War In Ukraine That No One Is Talking About
Another woman was taking care of her sick Mother near Kharkiv when a Russian soldier broke into her home and held her hostage for the better part of a week, all the while raping her mercilessly. At the ‘end’ of the ordeal he said he could ‘save her from the war’ because he ‘loved her very much’ and she could come to Russia to live with him but the woman declined because she did not want to leave her sick and ailing Mother.
In response the Russian soldier took out his gun and shot her Mother in front of her. This is not a wartime romance, this is not a case of Stockholm Syndrome, this is digusting abuse, rape, and war crimes.
Grown women are not the only victims of this digusting act. All over Ukraine there have been young girls, some as young as 10, being hospitalized with “torn up vaginas” from Russian soldiers plundering them mercilessly.
Apparently there is no age limit if you’re a Russian soldier, the regime switched off their capacity for human decency somewhere along the way. These victims are the ones that were lucky enough to survive, there was one woman found in Bucha, who was, unfortunately dead, who had a swastika carved in her back.
So if you wonder what power is really at play here, it would seem we have our answer. The women and children of Ukraine desperately need our help, we at DSD will try to bring attention to these stories as we can. Stay tuned.
