The defamation trial between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp has really started to get intense. This week, the jury got a chance to hear about some of the text messages that were sent between Depp and his friend, Isaac Baruch.
Although he is very close to Depp, when he was cross-examined, some horrible text messages came out. These messages were from October of 2016 and Baruch got very emotional when he was reading them back.

When Baruch was speaking about the texts, he was pretty upset about what Depp had written to him. The texts read, “I hope her rotting corpse is decomposing in the f*****g trunk of a Honda Civic. That c**t ruined such a f*****g cool life we had for a while.” Then Baruch wanted to talk about how these allegations have hurt Depp’s career.

He told the court, “It’s not fair. It’s not right what she did and what happened for so many people to get affected by this. It’s insane how this happened.” When he was asked about any violence between the couple, Baruch commented, “I never saw or witnessed whatever type of claim that is being said. Ever.”
Depp is suing Heard for an op-ed that she wrote back in 2018 about surviving domestic violence. She never mentioned his name in the piece, but the timeline just works out so it would be the time that they were together. Heard’s lawyer pointed out that domestic violence, in this case, “took many forms, including physical, emotional, verbal, and psychological, as well as sexual violence at the hands of Depp.”
Heard and Depp met back in 2011 when they did The Rum Diary together. They broke up in 2016 and that is when she got a restraining order against him. She accused him of abusing her and he continued to deny these claims. They settled their divorce outside of court just a few months after they split up.
In her latest Instagram post, she wrote, “Hopefully when this case concludes, I can move on and so can Johnny. I have always maintained a love for Johnny and it brings me great pain to have to live out the details of our past life together in front of the world. At this time, I recognize the ongoing support I’ve been fortunate to receive throughout these years, and in these coming weeks I will be leaning on it more than ever.”
