On the day after International Women’s Day, in an interview with Variety Magazine with the rest of the Kar-Jenner family, Kim Kardashian had some advice for women in business that simply… fell flat. She said, “Get off your f*** ass and work.
It seems like nobody wants to work these days.” a comment which sent all of social media reeling and had the entire internet coming for her at one point. “Not Kim Kardashian telling women to get up off their *** ass and work! Please shut the entire f*** up!” said one user, and that was pretty much the general consensus across the entire internet.
Kim Kardashian’s advice to working women falls flat
Even one of Kim’s peers, Jameela Jamil, came for Kim saying, “I think if you grew up in Beverly Hills with super successful parents in what was simply a smaller mansion, nobody needs to hear your thoughts on success/work ethic.
This same 24 hours in the day is a nightmare 99.9% of the world grew up with a very different 24 hours.” and she’s not wrong, the majority of people simply do not have the resources that Kim Kardashian does at her disposal, with Kim K it’s simply the will to get out of bed and do a twitter brand deal that day – with the rest of us, it’s usually something far more fundamental, if we don’t work remotely then we have to pull together an entire glam squad look on our own, and if we have them get children ready for their day as well before we even start our work day.
Kim has the benefit of nannies and personal assistants… she has help. The rest of us don’t.
Even those of us without children, we have our own struggles but Kim really doesn’t factor that in, she doesn’t seem to take into account that people don’t just wake up and have everything ready at their disposal like she does on the daily.
If working were a matter of willpower, you’d see a lot more people getting up and working, but it’s not just a case of willpower, it’s a case of willpower, opportunity, and going against the odds of whatever you have in your life that is working against you. We don’t really know what inspired Kim’s comments in that interview, but we feel pretty bad for whatever customer service professional had to deal with her the other day… perhaps she should change her name to Karen. Stay tuned!!!
