Russian police have arrested at least 1,000 citizens across Russia who has been protesting President Vladimir Putin’s decision to invade neighboring Ukraine. These protests have taken place in 40 different cities across the country and footage of protests in Putin’s hometown city of St. Petersburg has come to light on social media.
In Moscow’s Pushkin Square, Russian citizens were detained by police after demonstrating with posters that said, “No to War!” and other anti-Putin messages. The area has since been closed off by police.

Russian Police Arrest Thousands Of Anti-War, Pro-Ukraine Protestors In 40 Cities Across Russia
Anti-war protests are planned across the world as well as several major U.S. cities with the aim to put pressure on Putin to halt a missile and troop assault as United States President Joe Biden is allegedly “mapping out his response”.
Local news reports in Russia showed dozens of protestors being taken away and areas blocked off.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has been asking for aid in their defense from Russia, and are drafting people between the ages of 18-60, with a maximum of one year serving time. The attacks from Russia have been documented all over social media, from TikTok to Twitter, and has everyone from around the world calling for support to Ukraine.
However, politicians in the States have other things on their minds, such as John Kerry who wants Russia to remember to be thoughtful of climate change and emissions, and to not let their invasion of Ukraine completely cloud that out of their heads. Strong words Mr. Kerry… thanks…
