Chevy Chase has blasted fellow comedian Pete Davidson, who had previously decided to attack his reputation.
Comedian Chevy Chase Responds To Pete Davidson’s Criticism Of Him-‘I Don’t Give A Crap!’
Reports indicate that Pete was not impressed with Chevy, which resulted in him going on a rant during his appearance on ‘The Howard Stern Show’ in 2018.
And during the course of his appearance, the comedian did not hold back on what he believed to be a man that was exhibiting poor behaviour.
During the interview, Pete said: “F— Chevy Chase. He’s just a genuinely bad, racist person and I don’t like him.” It is not exactly clear what led to this tension.
But it seems that it could have been in response to Chevy’s comments about Saturday Night Live. Chevy had expanded on how he felt the show was never the same and criticised the boss, Lorne Michaels.
And given that Chevy had been on the show, albeit he had become the first person to leave SNL, it seems Pete was not happy over Chevy’s lack of respect for it.
He added: “It’s disrespectful to Lorne, too, a guy who gave you a career. No matter how big you get, you can’t forget what that guy did for you.”
In response, Chevy decided to let the whole world know that he did not care what others had to say about him. That was primarily one of the reasons why he had become such a popular comedian, given that his material would push the boundaries.
Much in the same way, he stressed that he would continue to act in a way that he felt was true to himself. In response, he remarked: “I don’t give a crap! I am who I am.
“And I like… who I am. I don’t care. And it’s part of me that I don’t care. And I’ve thought about that a lot.” Chevy has moved on since his time on SNL, and it is probably time for Pete to do the same.
They are two very different comedians, but they can equally exist within their own sphere of influence. So what do you think about all of this? If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
