Joe Rogan has defended himself for the criticism he has received in the aftermath of the Spotify scandal by urging his fans to take everything he says with a pinch of salt.
Joe Rogan Hits Back At His Critics-‘I’ve Helped Dozens Of People’
The podcast host has been criticised for spreading misinformation surrounding Covid-19. This resulted in various musicians such as Neil Young and Joni Mitchell boycotting the platform on the grounds that they were airing dangerous views.
Not only that, but Joe Rogan has also been slammed for a previous video that had resurfaced of him using the n-word.
But rather than getting involved into whether he should have done those things, he has urged his critics to use their own discernment before taking his views on board.
In an official statement, he said: “I talk sh*t for a living – that’s why this is so baffling to me. If you’re taking vaccine advice from me, is that really my fault?
“What dumb sh*t were you about to do when my stupid idea sounded better? ‘If you want my advice, don’t take my advice.” And keeping with that theme, Joe had spoken about how he is against the idea of mandatory vaccination.
And this sentiment has also been shared by various high-profile celebrities, according to Joe, who had decided to reach out to him in order to get his advice. This included none other than Green Bay Packers star Aaron Rodgers.
And by the sounds of it, they have been impressed with what Joe has had to say. He added: “It’s weird, I’ll get random messages from celebrities, mostly about Covid advice. No bulls***
“I’ve helped dozens of people… like famous actors, musicians who have asked for Covid advice.” In reality, if freedom of speech is to be respected, then Joe certainly does have a point.
But the very fact of the matter is that we are living in a cancel culture period where prior statements that have been made, irrespective of intention, can lead to a career being ended.
And that is something that has to be borne in mind by the podcast host, as he is treading a very fine line indeed. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
