ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal things have been rough between Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright). Thanks to his time in Nixon Falls, Carly is convinced Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is a threat that must be removed for things to get better. But is Carly about to regret her recent decisions? So, ‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal the story of this possible split began in Nixon Falls. When Sonny was living as “Mike” (Benard), unaware of his past, he ended up falling for Nina. Some fans have hated this story, while some others have loved the work Benard and Watros are doing.
We have to say that, despite how much we disagree with taking advantage of an amnesiac (Looking at you, DOOL) we find the situation slightly more understandable than what went down in Salem. Mostly because Nina’s first instinct was to do the right thing. She called Carly right away to tell her, but Carly wouldn’t listen to a word she said. And so, Nina, who’d been already nursing some huge hurt went vengeful and decided to not push to tell the truth. And the rest is GH history.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: What’s supposedly ahead
So, there is talk of Sonny and Nina actually sleeping together on the Haunted Star. We all know Sonny is in a bad place. He was so invested in that surprise on the Haunted Star, it seemed to break him when he learned from Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Lexi Ainsworth) Carly wasn’t coming.
We were actually waiting for him to throw those rings he got overboard, but if this talk is right? Well, there might be no going back for the Corinthos marriage. And while Sonny will definitely have his share of the blame if he does give in to his feelings, we believe Carly is the one with the biggest responsibility here.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Self-fulfilling prophecy
Carly has been insecure and angry. And, yes, she definitely has reasons to be. We’ll give her that much. However, Sonny has begged for another chance over and over but she keeps pushing him away. And she showed she’s not doing her part at all in helping this situation. At one point, Sonny’s behavior when he was off his meds made her ask him if he’s okay. But she never really went beyond that question.
That led to Nina being the one to happen upon his argument with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) at the Savoy. Which, of course, led to her reaching out and helping him to get back on his meds. No one else has gone that far from him, and least of all, Carly. Nina tried to give her a head’s up, once more, Carly wouldn’t let Nina get a word in edgewise. So, instead of trying to help Sonny and make sure he’s not a danger to himself or their daughters, she’s been avoiding him.
That was exactly the thing Nina warned her about. But Carly’s fears and insecurities have made her push Sonny away, possibly leading to the one thing she feared most.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: What about Sonny?
However, we can’t wonder if maybe Carly knows Sonny too well, despite her claiming he’s more of a stranger since Nixon Falls, and that dictated her behavior. After all, he kept dreaming of a blonde and had a wedding ring. So, he knew he had a wife out there. And that watch was another clue of loved ones.
But “Mike” jumped to his own conclusions and didn’t really seek answers. In fact, Nina hinted more than once that there was family out there and that he needed to seek out those answers to have anything with him. And he still didn’t. In fact, he threw the watch away.
To us, this says it’s possible Sonny subconsciously doesn’t want his marriage back. And that he might have known on some level the kind of life he leads in Port Charles. Maybe Sonny wanted to be away from it for a while, and part of him still does. He’s just diving back in full-speed because he got the memories back and he feels it’s what he “should” do. Whatever happens, this is sure to be a long mess. Especially if Carly does go to the Haunted Star and catches Nina there.
