Actress Lily Collins has recalled some of her fondest moments in meeting the Royal family over the years.
Lily Collins Recalls Throwing Toys At Prince Charles-‘I Had A Tendency To Do Naughty Things’
Lily, for her part, is no stranger when it comes to meeting people in high places. She has had the fortunate occurrence of coming across Prince Charles, as well as the late Princess Diana.
And as part of that experience, she forged many memories, some of which have stayed with her to this day in light of what had happened.
During an interview on “The Late Late Show with James Cordon,” Lily spoke on how she prevented Diana from receiving some flowers that she was meant to give her.
She said: “I’m giving Diana flowers, but the second that she went to take them, I then tried to pull them back. So as you can imagine, all the air was sucked out of the room.”
In her defence, it is important to remember that Lily was very young at the time. In addition, given that her father Phil Collins is one of the most well talked about celebrities by virtue of his accomplishments in the music industry, this incident was naturally gravitated more than it should have been.
And yet, Lily did not herself any favours especially since she was involved in another incident this time with Charles. As she was playing with her toys, the unthinkable happened.
She added: “I was playing with some toys with Prince Charles, and I proceeded to kind of like throw something at him, like throw a toy telephone at his head, which, again, all the air was sucked out of the room.”
Nevertheless, all was forgiven especially since her father Phil was working so closely with the Royal family to carry out charitable work. In this way, Lily’s mishaps were minor in comparison to the bigger picture of trying to give back to the community.
Lily’s following comments confirmed as much: “My dad did a lot of stuff with the Prince’s Trust, so, and I grew up in England. I’m British.
“I just went along for the ride, and I guess I had a tendency to do naughty things as a 2-year-old.” If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
