Finally, after weeks of speculating, Selena Gomez has revealed what her back tattoo, that was done by @bangbangnyc over on instagram, really is! A lot of people were saying it was a rose, or a dream catcher, the people who said rose were the closest because it was indeed a rose, but the design was a rose dripping down her back like a candle.
Steven McCurdy AKA @bangbangnyc revealed that this tat was also a watercolor tat. Meaning that it will probably fade a lot as it ages, however, it won’t look too bad because of all the soft colors used in the piece and there will still be a skeleton of the piece left behind in its wake.

Selena is not the only one who got this tattoo, apparently her bestie Cara Delavigne got the tattoo was well, albeit in a different location. Fans are speculating whether or not both these tats signify something deeper, with Cara we don’t know but with Selena it’s not that far-fetched to think that she may have a deeper meaning behind hers.
In 2012 when she first started her tattoo journey she got a musical note on her wrist and said that she got it because of how impactful music has been in her life.
There is also a tatoo that she has on the back of her neck, 1976 in roman numerals, which she said had to do with a family member who was important to her. Coincidentally, 1976 is the same year her Mother was born.
Cara got her tattoo on her right side along her ribs, its of the same design. People are wondering if it has something to do with the fact that Cara recently signed onto season 2 of “Only Murders in the Building” along with Selena, who is not only in the production itself but has a role as a producer on the project as well.
We don’t know if the tatoo would have something to do with the storyline itself or if this could just be something private between the two friends, neither Gomez nor Delavigne have commented as to the tat’s significance. So we’ll just keep hanging around instagram until one of them says something. Stay tuned!!!
