Rose McGowan has suffered a huge setback after a judge ruled that her lawsuit against Harvey Weinstein had been dismissed, despite the star accusing him of rape in the past.

Rose McGowan’s Lawsuit Against Harvey Weinstein Has Been Dismissed

This is going to be unwelcome news for Rose and her fans, given all the courage that it took for her to come public about her experiences with the disgraced movie producer.

It is hard to understand why her lawsuit was dismissed, given that Harvey had been convicted of rape in 2020. But on reflection, it was based on more of a technicality as opposed to there actually being no case to answer.

According to the court documents, the judge dismissed the case because Rose had failed to meet the deadline required in submitting the relevant paperwork.

And given the nature of the case, it is not possible for Rose to have the deadline extended, especially since she had been given plenty of time. With the case now not able to move forward, Rose will have to decide where she goes from here.

The court documents went on to outline the following: “Plaintiff has not filed any brief in response to the Court’s Order.

“Accordingly, Plaintiff is deemed to have conceded the two points the Court gave her opportunity to argue in the supplemental brief…meaning that further amendment would be futile.”

This begs the question, what can Rose do in response? Well, outside of the legal parameters, there is not a lot except for perhaps the following.

First of all, she could continue to speak out against what she went through as a way to warn other women in the entertainment industry of what can happen when people take advantage.

Secondly, as with many stars, they often end up writing books about their traumatic experiences. And yet, given that this is a legal issue, she would have to think carefully about what she could say, given that there is always the risk of getting sued.

Rose has yet to comment on this decision, but it is probably a good thing if she takes some time out to consider what she wants to do going forward in her life.
