Justin Bieber defied his critics by performing at a concert in Saudi Arabia, despite concerns over the country’s growing human rights violations.

Justin Bieber Performs In Saudi Arabia Despite Concerns Over Human Rights-‘Justin Bieber Legitimising A Murderous Dictator’

In the run-up to the concert, the fiancé (Hatice Cengiz) of the late Saudi cleric Jamal Khashoggi who had reportedly been assassinated by the Saudi state, had begged the singer to pull out in the hope that his absence would send a strong message.

But rather than stand up for a political cause, Justin decided to go ahead with the concert. Accordingly, the performance was held at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, where the Formula 1 race had taken place.

In the video here, we can see that Justin is clearly up for the performance. He is bouncing around, as he gears himself up to walk on stage. The crowd can be heard cheering, as the anticipation builds up for what promises to be a show-stopping performance.

Despite the criticism, it is important to bear these points in mind. First of all, Justin was not the only high-profile star to perform there. Jason Derulo also happened to take to the stage.

Secondly, by all accounts, Justin had to weigh up the drawbacks before deciding what to do to. After all, by doing so, he would have deprived a lot of his fans the opportunity to see him perform live.

Nevertheless, his decision to go ahead with the concert raised a reaction on social media. A significant proportion of people were outraged that Justin had decided to put what they believed to be money over human rights.

In addition, they felt that he should have used his voice to tackle an issue that was clearly important. One person on Twitter wrote: “Disappointed with Bieber…@justinbieber legitimising a Murderous Dictator – MBS.”

Time will tell whether this performance does end up doing more harm than good for Justin’s career. He will have no doubt alienated some of his fans with his decision to go through with the concert in Saudi Arabia.

With that firmly in mind, he needs to consider whether he will do such a thing again. If you enjoyed reading this article, then please make sure you check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
