Samaria Rice, who happens to be the mother of the deceased Tamir Rice, has called for the overthrow of the United States government following the acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse.

Kyle was declared not guilty, which sent swathes of criticism across the nation, given that two people had died as a result of his actions.

And Samaria understands what it is like to lose a son at the hands of a gun. Therefore, she had a lot to say on the matter. In 2014, Tamir was shot dead by a police officer after her son had apparently been handling a toy gun.

As such, she did not mince her words. During an interview with TMZ, Samaria said: “I’m very annoyed about how a minor, a white little boy, is not in jail for the murder of other people, and that’s just not right.”

Although Kyle argued that his actions were a result of self-defence, Samaria chose to criticise Kyle’s mother for giving him the weapon.

As Kyle was 17 at the time of the incident, coupled with the fact that his mother had apparently known he was going to go to the protest, Samaria felt that such conduct was absolutely disgraceful.

She added: “His mother should go to jail, too. Because why would you give him a gun if he’s a minor? That’s just not how you’re supposed to raise your children in this country.

“So you knew he was going to a protest—what did you think he was going to do?” Despite Kyle being declared not guilty by a jury, that was not enough for Samaria.

She called for the wholesale reform of the judicial system and encouraged others to overthrow the government. Such a statement could be seen as inciting hatred.

Regardless of whether you agree with the verdict, all legal protocols had been followed. That did not stop Samaria from being incensed, though. She continued: “I’m really confused.

“But I also understand that it was designed this way and, at this point, we are at the mercy of God. … At the end of the day, this country needs to be overthrown. This is pitiful.”
