Tiger King 2 dropped on Netflix this week to largely negative reviews. However, reviews are the last thing on the mind of star of the original docuseries, Joe Exotic. Since his imprisonment Exotic has been A) claiming he deserves a pardon as he was set up (a theme that perpetuates through the docuseries sequel) and B) that he is not receiving the health care he requires.
Now Exotic has been moved from the Federal Medical Center Fort Worth, a federal prison facility for male inmates with medical and mental health needs, to Federal Medical Center Butner. The North Carolina center is better equipped to deal with Exotic’s diagnosis of “aggressive” prostate cancer.

John Phillips, introduced to Netflix viewers as Exotic’s attorney during Tiger King 2, is still hoping for his client to be released after the much hyped and hoped for pardon from outgoing President Donald Trump earlier this year did not pan out as predicted. And that’s “limousine and glam squad waiting in the wings” predicted.
According to Tiger King 2, Exotic was framed by everyone from PETA to Jeff Lowe to the U.S. government. However, even though Exotic claims his prognosis is dire, the big-cat loving, lip-synching, flamboyant ex-police sheriff who used to strip for the mayor will remain at FMC Butner until further notice.
Exotic’s new home of Butner provides extensive medical services with a full hospital and cancer treatment facilities. The prison facility has had its share of ‘celebrity inmates,’ including Bernie Madoff who suffered from kidney disease and lived out his sentence at Butner until April 2021, upon his death.
Exotic will be cooling his heels at Butner while he awaits his new sentencing, after his original 22 year one was vacated in July this year. Though the conviction for a murder for hire plot on rival Carole Baskin and violating the endangered species act for killing 5 tigers remains, a shorter sentence is being looked at. Exotic and his team want zero sentence.
Meanwhile, during his time behind bars Exotic has been corresponding with his legions of fans, has launched a line of weed with The Wonder Years star Jason Hervey (Wayne Arnold—yeah, bet that one wasn’t on your bingo card!) along with launching a successful underwear line. He has also split from his fifth child-husband, Dillon Passage (Passage was 21, Exotic was 54 when they met) and moved on with another fame-chaser, young and buff Arkansas native- Seth Posey.
