Former NBA player Corey Benjamin’s daughter has been making headlines for the wrong reasons after she was caught on camera in a fight on the basketball court.

In the video here, we can see that Benjamin’s daughter is trying to gain a good position on the court. However, after she loses possession, the opposition team runs to the other end.
But rather than chasing back and trying to regain possession, she simply had enough by punching the opposition player. It turns out that the victim, Lauryn Ham did not see the punch coming, which meant that she ended up suffering from concussion.
Naturally, her parents were outraged at what was clearly an act of assault. They have subsequently filed a police report, and Benjamin’s daughter, in the meantime, has been given an indefinite ban from the stadium.
In response, Benjamin came out to issue a public apology on behalf of his child. In an official statement, he said: “This is not a reflection of the values and standards that my family holds.
“Nor does it exemplify the values, character and spirit of sportsmanship that the game of basketball requires.” This is the last thing that Corey wants going on in his life, as it does tarnish the things he had achieved in the NBA.
And if his daughter wants to follow the same blueprint, she will have to get her act together. Although that is a significant part of this incident, it is immaterial in light of the fact that an innocent person was harmed.
That is why Corey chose to express his warm words to Lauryn. He added: ‘To the young lady who was punched by my daughter during a youth basketball game, I sincerely apologize to you.
“I am praying for your complete healing both physically and emotionally.” Let us hope that Benjamin can prevent this from happening again.
He knows what it takes to make it in the NBA, and if he can impart this knowledge to his daughter, it can help prevent her from destroying any chance that she has of making it as a basketball player.
