There’s been a lot of rumors and news pieces flying around about Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but he’s set the record straight on Pat McAfee’s show. Rodgers has refused to get the Covid-19 vaccine as he is allergic to one of the ingredients and ended up testing positive last week.
He’s been quarantined in his home in Green Bay and came back on McAfee’s show after stating last week that he would be championed by the right and cancelled by the left. Well, that’s exactly what’s been happening, however, Rodgers could care less about politics and has stated, “I’m an athlete, not an activist.”
Aaron Rodgers Says He’s An Athlete, Not An Activist During Interview With Pat McAfee
Now, Rodgers is going to miss his matchup against the Seattle Seahawks and explained that he’s watched three games on television, and the first two were after surgery. Ironically, in 2007 that game was also against the Seahawks.
He wishes he could be with his team out on the field, even if he wasn’t playing, rather than sitting at home doing nothing, but he’s excited to get back out there and “do what he does best” as he says.
Right now, he will be able to go back to the facility Saturday, and while there’s a small possibility that he could play, it’s looking very unlikely and Jordan Love will most likely get the start.
It’s been a strange situation for Rodgers and the hate that he’s been receiving has been outlandish. You don’t have to agree with everything Rodgers says but he has a legitimate reason to refuse the vaccine. His interviews on Pat McAfee’s show have been enlightening and interesting to hear how and what he’s thinking.
We look forward to seeing Rodgers back on the field and perhaps we’ll see him on Sunday. We will have to wait and see.
