‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers finds that Ethan Plath took issue with Mom Kim Plath coming to sister Moriah Plath’s concert. Not only did it violate wife Olivia Plath’s no-contact boundary, but it also brought up an issue that it looks like Ethan has had for awhile with Kim, and that was the fact that before now?
Kim wasn’t very supportive of Moriah’s dream of being a singer – the reason being was because Moriah wanted to sing secular music, not just gospel songs. In fact, he alluded to the fact that there was a huge fight a few years back where Moriah was going to take a few hundred dollars from her Grandparents to get a secular album recorded…
‘Welcome to Plathville’: …and Kim would not let her.
Because it was secular music and not gospel music. So Ethan has trouble buying the fact that Kim is being all supportive of Moriah’s dreams now, and he has a right to have a healthy level of skepticism toward that, because from this angle, now that we know this part of the story, it does indeed look like a big show of performative support on Kim’s part.
Some people might say that Kim has learned her lesson and that Ethan and Olivia’s boundaries actually did work, just not in the way that Ethan and Olivia wanted them to, it made Kim and Barry think that maybe they didn’t want to risk losing the rest of their kids the way they lost Ethan.
However, Ethan did say that Barry not coming to the gig meant a lot to him, Barry respected the boundaries and that seemed to mean a lot to Ethan, but Kim has made it clear that boundaries or no boundaries, she’s going to come to every one of Moriah’s concerts and sit in the front row and cheer her on as loudly as possible.
Looks like Moriah is going to need a new keyboardist soon, because unless Olivia actually sits down and talks things out with Kim and both compromise? There’s going to be an opening in the band soon. Also, for some reason I see Moriah having to have a lot of security detail in the future, potentially, but we’ll see. Stay tuned!!!
