Back in February 2020, and a month after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealed their plans to “Megxit” Nicki Minaj threw her support behind the royal couple when they decided to pull the plug on their working relationship with the monarchy and move to California instead.
Speaking on Apple Music’s Queen Radio she said: “Now I do want to get into something ‒ who thinks it’s cool that the girl Meghan Markle left the UK with her husband? Kudos to Harry because let me tell you something, and this is what I love about my husband ‒ real men always say a happy wife, a happy life. That’s what real men say.”
Nicki Minaj Calls Prince Harry A ‘Real Man’
Yet, one royal critic says that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have “no way back” to the UK, especially since a new poll shows that their popularity has hit a low. They have sunk to an all-time low in the UK as far as their “favorability” rating is concerned. According to pollsters YouGov, Meghan is liked by 26 percent of the British population and disliked by 65 percent, which squares to a net approval rating of -39 percent. Harry, meanwhile, is liked by 34 percent and disliked by 59 percent, leaving him a net favorability of -25 percent.
And now one royal expert says that Harry and Meghan have “no way back” of every regaining the high popularity they both achieved during their peak in 2017 and 2018.
Speaking to Entertainment Daily in a new interview, royal commentator Charles Rae put it this way: “I think Harry and Meghan are a lost cause. I cannot see them ever regaining the high popularity they once reached. Their continued preachings are getting on everyone’s nerves. In at least one poll they lost 50 points which puts them lower than Prince Charles when he divorced Diana.”
So far both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not made any comments about the matter, nor have they indicated that they plan on returning to London anytime soon. Watch this space.
