They say that distance makes the heart grow fonder, but when it comes to Prince Charles, it seems like that distance is about to make his heart crack. There’s a new report that suggests the Prince of Wales is super bummed and disappointed that he is yet to meet his granddaughter Lilibet, who lives in California with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. If that weren’t enough, it’s almost been two years since he’s seen his grandson, Archie, too. Here’s what you need to know.

Meghan, in the hopes that he can spend some time with his grandchildren. Archie turned two back in May while Lilibet was born in June.

“I think Prince Charles really wants to meet his granddaughter,” royal expert Nick Bullen told the publication. “Prince Charles is incredibly sad about everything that’s gone on. So the family will want to meet each other.”

If that weren’t enough, Queen Elizabeth would also like to meet her latest great-grandchildren.

“I think she really would want to,” Bullen said. “As the queen has always said, Harry and Meghan are much loved members of the family and I think the queen rises above all of this petty bickering. This is her family. Of course she wants to be [with] them.”

While there’s been some speculation suggesting that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex want to baptize Lilibet in Windsor, no confirmations have been made. In fact, Harry and Meghan have made no indication that they plan on returning to the U.K. anytime soon.
