Controversial television presenter Piers Morgan says that he’s been getting a lot of job offers after Ofcom ruled that he didn’t do anything wrong when he expressed his personal opinion about Meghan Markle on “Good Morning Britain” back in March. Piers said that he didn’t believe Meghan’s claims in which she said that she experienced suicidal thoughts while she was still a full-time royal in London. Here’s what you need to know.
Piers Morgan’s comments on the show about Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey – and her admission of struggling with her mental health – sparked more than 50,000 complaints, the most in watchdog Ofcom’s history. Yet, he has since been cleared after his comments about the Duchess of Sussex were found not to have breached the broadcasting code.
Piers Morgan Says That He’s Getting A Lot Of Job Offerings Following Ofcom Ruling
According to new reports, Piers said he would make a decision “quite soon” about where his next job will be. He said: “I have had loads of offers and they have accelerated in the last 10 hours, as you can imagine, and I will take my free speech campaign around the world and all I require is to have an employer who believes in it as passionately as I do.”
If that weren’t enough, Piers said the rise in Good Morning Britain’s ratings during his stint on the programme means he is a “valuable commodity”, adding: “I’m considering some very interesting offers right now and I will make a decision quite soon.”
Just last week Piers re-tweeted a Daily Star article suggesting that he is about to make a “sensational” return to GMB after his abrupt exit earlier this year. Piers commented on the matter with a simple, “Am I?”
Of course, it didn’t take long at all for both his fans and followers to comment on the matter. Many of them said, “Hope so! You’re the best interviewer. Not been the same without you! I miss the shouting and arguments,” along with, “You need to come back. Something needs to be done with @GMB apart from @susannareid100 the other presenters are just so boring. They have the odd, good replacement presenter for a week or so, but other than that it’s terrible.”
