Prince Andrew can consider himself to be a very lucky person. Sure, he might not be heir to the throne, but he is his mother Queen Elizabeth’s favorite son, which is probably why he’s managed to get this far in life without having to ever pay the consequences for his actions.
And that is also the reason why the Duke of York has been so well-protected by the monarchy despite a lawsuit alleging sexual assault against him, and why he’s also managed to dodge it all, too. Here’s what you need to know.
British Royal Family Slammed For Protecting Prince Andrew In Sexual Assault Lawsuit
Earlier this month Virginia Giuffre filed a lawsuit in Manhattan federal court, stating that Prince Andrew repeatedly sexually assaulted her when she was 17. According to ITV News, lawyers for Giuffre say they believe Prince Andrew will end up in court after their client filed a lawsuit on Monday against the royal. In the lawsuit, brought under the Child Victims Act, Giuffre claims the prince sexually abused her on multiple occasions.
Of course, it didn’t take long at all for many royal fans and critics alike to weigh in on the matter.
Many of them have taken to their social media accounts to write: “This slimy jerk will wait it out in his little castle while being waited in hand and foot. He has no worries because nothing will happen to him. Even if he’s found in default judgment he won’t pay a dime. Really disgusting,” along with, “This spoiled little rich boy, hiding out and facing zero consequences thanks to mummy. As always.”
Another critic wrote, “Until Queen Mummy is gone nothing will happen to Andrew. Why? She’s always protected him and he’s always been the favorite child. Charles, so long as it looks good for him and the Royals, will happily make sure his dear pedo brother faces the music since there has been no love lost between these two for years. Again, so long as it will make him and the rest of the royal family look good he’ll hand him over, but ONLY if the plusses outweigh the negatives. But nothing will happen until mom goes toes up.”
Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace has denied the allegations that have been made against Prince Andrew, stating: “It is emphatically denied that The Duke of York had any form of sexual contact or relationship with Virginia Roberts. Any claim to the contrary is false and without foundation.”
