’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers tells that for a lot of this season it was kind of hard to muster up any sympathy for Angela Deem Illesanmi because let’s face it, she kind of came off as selfish.
Michael wanted her to have a baby and wanted just to focus on that and maybe coming to the United States when the ban on Nigerian immigrants is lifted but Angela seemed like all she wanted to do was embrace this new weight loss journey and get surgery in order to be a “sexy Meemaw” but on the tell-all it seemed like that was all a front.
’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers: The moment Angela lost all sympathy
The fact of the matter was that Angela was having some pretty deep pain of her own. The reason why she started the weight loss journey in the first place, it seems, was because she wanted to be alive for when Michael actually did get here. She said she was afraid of the fact that he wouldn’t make it over here because she wouldn’t make it to see him to US Shores, which, if you’re Angela’s age and in times of a pandemic, is a very real fear.
Let’s face it, she did have some legit reasons to be worried, her own Mother had just died of cancer and she’d had to watch her waste away for quite a long time. She took care of her. That probably sparked something within Angela to want to live a healthier lifestyle.
She wanted to do this by doing a weight loss journey but she wanted to do it in a way that would actually make a difference, not with yo-yo dieting which can be unhealthy and most often yields unsatisfactory results. The thing is Angela didn’t express that very well throughout the entire season.
We also didn’t get to see anything of Michael’s bullying her besides him just being completely checked out of the relationship at one point. Either way, it wasn’t the correct way to handle things and as a result, Angela did go through some legit emotional pain. Skyla even backed her up on that claim.
However, Angela lost all sympathy the moment we learned that she’s the one that attended Dr. Obeng’s birthday party out in California. She said that she just went to show appreciation, and that her daughter Skyla went with her, host Shaun Robinson asked her if she had ever been alone with Dr. Obeng and that’s the moment Angela lost all sympathy, she said that she had let Dr. Obeng drive her home.
She quickly qualified that by saying that he had thought that her nausea meant that she was getting an infection, but the fact of the matter was she didn’t tell Michael at all. Michael wasn’t having it though and said that it was all rubbish since Angela gives him the third degree continually.
Michael’s Aunt Lydia came on and that seemed to ramp up things to a fever pitch. Lydia did compliment Angela and said she “looked good in a way” but she also said that she didn’t need any surgery to be beautiful or sexy for Michael which is a sweet sentiment if you think about it, but the way it was applied got Angela fired up.
She went from 0-600 in less than 60 seconds, she said that if Michael truly accepted her the way she was then he accepted the fact that she couldn’t have babies. Lydia maintained that she wants Michael to be a successful man and in Nigeria that means having a child and that Angela needed to be prepared to do that in order to be married to a Nigerian man.
That’s when Angela flipped her lid, stormed over to the camera, cursed out Lydia, accused her of being with Michael and then… flashed her boobs in anger? That is one move that I will never understand in the context that it was made.
She literally flashed her boobs in anger, I’ve heard of threat displays but I’ve never seen a human female do it, seen it a lot in primates and birds, but never a human female. That’s a new one for Animal Planet. Afterwards she proceeded to storm off the set. We’re still mystified.. and this is just part 1. Stay tuned!!!
