Can’t the royals just get along? Prince Edward admits that the tension between the royal family and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is “very sad.” The royal also revealed how his mother Queen Elizabeth is coping after the death of her beloved husband, Prince Philip, who died back in April. Here’s what he has to say.
While no family is perfect, the royal family has certainly had its fair share of drama as both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have certainly been airing a lot of their dirty royal laundry these last several months.
And for Prince Edward, he believes that all of the drama and gossip is “very sad.” Harry and Meghan pulled the plug on their working relationship with the royal family back in January 2020.

“Listen, weirdly we’ve all been there before — we’ve all had excessive intrusion and attention in our lives,” Edward commented to CNN. “And we’ve all dealt with it in slightly different ways, and listen, we wish them the very best of luck. It’s a really hard decision.”
“It’s difficult for everyone but that’s families for you,” he added.
Prince Edward also opened up about losing his father, Prince Philip. The Duke of Edinburgh died peacefully at the age of 99, and just one month shy of his birthday, back in April.
“It was an experience that so many other families have had to go through during this past year or 18 months and so in that sense, it was particularly poignant,” the royal said in reference to the pandemic.
“There are an awful lot of people who haven’t been able to express the respect that they would like to have done. I think many people would have liked to have been there to support the Queen.”
