Actress, Shailene Woodley and NFL quarterback, Aaron Rodgers’ engagement surprised almost everyone; fans, exes, even friends of the pair expressed shock at how quickly the couple made such a big commitment.
Now Shailene explains how the pandemic quarantine was the biggest catalyst behind how the couple got so serious so fast. The two decided that, seeing as they weren’t able to easily hop on a plane and travel back and forth to each other, that they would move in with each other instead.
That’s quite the call to make!
“We jumped in headfirst and got some of the sticky bits out of the way early,” Shailene divulged, admitting the move “taught us a lot about each other very quickly.”
The Big Little Lies Star also believes that no matter what was going on in the world, she and her fiancé would have met somewhere and somehow.

“I have the perspective that I would have met Aaron in any context, any space in time, because I feel we were meant to be together.”
However, Shailene didn’t come to the conclusion that Aaron was the right man for her, all by herself. Shailene joked about how her dog “pulled her aside” to tell her that she had to stick with the Super Bowl champ.
“If you don’t date this dude, I will disown you as my mother”, she claims her dog discussed with her. “The three feet that I run with you when you throw a ball is nothing compared to the marathon I’m able to run with him.’”
This isn’t the only time Shailene discussed Aaron’s ‘ball-handling’ skills. Discussing their surprise engagement with Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show in late February, she admitted she never thought she’d fall for a sportsman saying, “I never thought as a little girl, ‘Yeah.
I’m going to marry someone who throws balls, yeah!’ But he’s really just so good at it, and I’m really impressed. He can throw fast balls, he can throw slow balls, high balls, low balls.”
Okay, I’ve officially heard enough about Aaron’s balls!
