‘Bachelor in Paradise’: Fans Are Excited By David Spade’s New Hosting Gig
Chris Harrison will no longer be hosting the show due to his role in the Rachael Kirkconnel scandal. While Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe have been received well on The Bachelorette, they are only seen as short-term replacements. In a statement given by the producers at the time of Chris’ departure, they said: “We are dedicated to improving the…representation of our crew.”
So what can we expect from David? The comedian/actor is best known for his roles in ‘Just shoot Me’ and ‘Rules of Engagement.’ It is hoped that David will add a light-hearted approach to the show, which has been absent from the screen for over a year. The producers are hoping that by bringing more diversity and a different angle to the show, it can continue to resonate with fans globally.
In addition, the star is a fan of the show. Fans have already started to become excited. One supporter wrote: “OK @DavidSpade is hilarious and this is going to be epic.” This is seen as a wider attempt to save the Bachelor franchise from running its course. Ever since Chris left, there have been concerns over the viewing figures.
This has some weight, as the number of people tuning in has dropped since Chris’ departure. Fans have simply failed to adjust to the major changes, and this has also been felt by the show’s stars. Sources confirmed as much: “It’s a different vibe. Chris was the glue that holds it together. He’s like the father figure to everybody. He’s someone everybody knows and respects and truly loves.”
The new season is set to air in mid-August, with plenty of things to look forward to. There are still a whole host of celebrities who have yet to be announced that will appear as hosts. David is only scheduled to be there for two weeks, with the other names being held back for maxim anticipation. It will be fascinating to see how David does and fans will be tuning in to see who else makes an appearance.
