Katie Thurston has already finished her stint on The Bachelorette, and by the looks of it, she was taking no prisoners.

‘The Bachelorette’: Katie Thurston Was ‘In Control’ As The Show’s New Lead

Katie will follow in the footsteps of past contestants such as Clare Crawley. The latter certainly left an impression during her time with Dale Moss. It seems Katie went one better, as she did not let Chris Harrison’s departure affect her. A source said: “Katie was in control and made sure the men she wanted were there and the men she wasn’t interested in, she sent packing.

“[The show] went great, and it wrapped a week ahead of schedule.”However, she did not do it all herself. Katie had the benefit of having two female stars next to her, in the form of Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe. While their primary focus was clearly on hosting duties, that did not stop them from making sure that Katie was in a good place.

The source added: “Tayshia and Kaitlyn can relate to Katie’s journey in a lot of different ways. It was nice to have them there to help out with whatever situation came up.” This was great news for the franchise after the initial worries that Tayshia and Kaitlyn were struggling to adjust to their jobs. This was, in part, due to the mass influence that Chris had on the set.

Given that he had forged numerous relationships with the wider crew, during his decade-plus tenure, it was hard for the pair to slot right in. Not only that, it is completely different to transition from a contestant to a host. They found this out as reports confirmed they were struggling to cope with the intense schedule. As such, things took longer than they should have.

A source had revealed: “They didn’t have years of experience before hopping on. Scenes that could be done in one take with Chris can now take, like, two hours.” Despite the struggles, the new season of The Bachelorette has finished filming. And by all accounts, there were no major scandals that had taken place. With increasing uncertainty surrounding the future of the franchise, Katie must deliver.

Time will tell whether she does that. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish. Please also visit TVRocker for all of the latest exciting news on all of your favourite daytime television soaps.
