Paris Hilton has opened up on how she continues to suffer from the trauma associated with her leaked sex tape.
What Made Paris Hilton Have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder?
The star had suffered widespread humiliation at the hands of her ex-boyfriend Rick Salomon after he had started selling the tape. Not before long, it went viral, much to the horror of Paris. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Paris spoke on how the incident still haunts her to this day. She said: “That will always be something that will hurt me for the rest of my life.
“It’s always there in the back of my mind, and kind of, when it happened, it was just – people were so mean about it to me. While Rick was busy profiting from it all, Paris was left to pick up the pieces. She was very candid about how embarrassed she had felt when her family had found out about the scandal. And things got so bad that Paris started to seclude herself from the outer world.
She added: “I didn’t wanna leave my house, didn’t wanna show my face. I just felt like my life was over. I just always had looked up to just these amazing women like Princess Diana, and I just felt like when he did that to me, took that all away from me, and people would never look at me the same.” And things continued to spiral out of control as she could no longer keep her mental health in check.
This was in stark contrast to a woman, who has built a massive business empire which continues to grow. But at that point, she needed professional help and fast. She continued: “It just made me just – it was, it still gives me like post-traumatic stress disorder even like talking about it… that was a part that was, you know, obviously, It was humiliating for people to see all of that.
“But the fact that people would think that I would want that or do that on purpose just really angers me.” Paris is now in a much better place as she recently got engaged to Carter Reum, and by the looks of it, the wedding is only a matter of time.
