Queen Elizabeth II has been showing remarkable courage in light of her husband Prince Philip’s tragic passing at the age of 99.
Queen Elizabeth II Is Staying Strong In The Aftermath Of Prince Philip’s Death
There were concerns that Philip’s death may have taken its toll on the Queen, who is now facing further responsibility at the age of 94. And things have not been helped by the rifts within the Royal family, namely the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle saga. But through it all, the Queen has kept it together. In an interview with the Sun, Sophie Edward spoke on how brave the Queen has been.
She said: “It’s been a bit of a shock. However much one tries to prepare oneself for something like this; it’s still a dreadful shock. And we’re still trying to come to terms with that. And it’s very, very sad [but the Queen is]…thinking of others before herself.” Prince Andrew also spoke on how the Queen has been handling it all.
She has been busy with the funeral preparations, with reports that she has given the green light for Harry to attend. The funeral is due to go ahead on Sunday, and Harry has already jetted back into the UK. But she could not have kept herself together without the support of her loved ones. Andrew said: “She described it [his death] as having left a huge void in her life.
“But we … are rallying round to make sure that we’re there to support her, and I know there is a huge amount of support not just for her but for everybody as we go through this enormous change.” Despite the Queen’s effort to reunite the whole family, one person will be absent from the funeral, Meghan. This should not come as a surprise, given the media attention it would bring due to Meghan’s bombshell revelations.
And yet, the decision to stay was motivated by other reasons. On the recommendations of her doctors, Meghan was advised to stay in the US. A source said: “Meghan will be staying in California. She can’t go on doctor’s orders. She is too far along to fly, and it’s recommended she rest in the final months.”
